GILLIAN ANDERSON'S 40TH BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
40? Seriously? She looks younger than me. They must have put something in the water on the XF set because
Thought the 40th birthday of my favourite girl deserved a lovely picspam so here it is! And I even kept all Scully pics away! (I save those for Scully's birthday :) ) But damn, this was hard! Narrowing down 40 pics of this unbelievable photogenic and gorgeous lady took me a long time, but I think I have picked the best. My best anyways. So, continue for the pics (in completely random order) and extremely unimportant and fangirly explanations of the pictures...
To Gillian, on her birthday. You are one of the most underrated and underappreciated actor's of your time but the ones who have been privilidged enough to stumble upon and enjoy your work are extremely fortunate. I know you may not have an Ivy League education, razor sharp wit, or an almost PhD from Yale, but what you do have is far greater than that. Your talents in the arts is something that cannot be taught, no matter the number of classes or what kind of school you go to. You say more with a glance than most actors can with 2 hours of dialogue and you emote things I never even knew I could be made to feel. Dana Scully is an icon, maybe even moreso than Fox Mulder. Dana Scully showed me how to be brave, how to face unbelievable tragedy and how to see the light in the darkest of times. She explained the struggle between heart and mind, science and belief, and what kind of dreamsicle is the best kind. She made it okay to be a strong and independant woman who could both kick ass and break hearts while wearing killer pumps. But most of all, Dana Scully made me believe. In myself, in love, and in everything else. Gillian is a role model I am not afraid to have and I can only pray that those who look up to the Miley Cirus' of the world can one day see the light and experience what I have and am still currently having.
So thank you, Gillian. For Scully. For you. Here's to 40 more years!
